Check up on iT! Tade's views on the Presidential Election

A close friend of mine sent out this email today to incourage voters to really think about who and what they are voting for . She really touched on some great issues in her post so I thought I would share it with all my irresistible friends. Please take time to read and time to think and also please go out there and vote!! Gotta love iT!

With the election nearing I wanted to ask everyone to THINK for themselves!

I will start this email by stating that MY personal opinions and thoughts are my own, I do not 100% represent any race, ethnicity, gender, or even political party!!

I view the news for at least 8 hours a day to view the opinions of other Americans and to stay informed of global issues. FYI: I am able to look at the news so much because I work in media.

With that said I often see the disconnect of what is being said from the candidates mouths on the ISSUES to what is being digested (or in this case not digested) by the American public. Below you will find a few FACTS about the Barak Obama campaign (all from the horse’s mouth) regarding two (2) of the most heavily discussed and misunderstood issues (as I see it)!

Please refer to the official Barak Obama tax calculator to see how his tax plan would affect your finances: http://www.clearspring.com/widgets/48f203eebb67a86f?pid=-
Here is a fact: our first bail out plan was 700 Billion dollars, the cost of the war in IRAQ totals over 700 Billion dollars. Please refer to Barak’s full plan for the War in IRAQ http://www.barackobama.com/issues/iraq/ here is an important quote:
“Immediately upon taking office, Obama will give his Secretary of Defense and military commanders a new mission in Iraq : ending the war. The removal of our troops will be responsible and phased, directed by military commanders on the ground and done in consultation with the Iraqi government. Military experts believe we can safely redeploy combat brigades from Iraq at a pace of 1 to 2 brigades a month that would remove them in 16 months. That would be the summer of 2010 – more than 7 years after the war began.
Under the Obama-Biden plan, a residual force will remain in Iraq and in the region to conduct targeted counter-terrorism missions against al Qaeda in Iraq and to protect American diplomatic and civilian personnel. They will not build permanent bases in Iraq , but will continue efforts to train and support the Iraqi security forces as long as Iraqi leaders move toward political reconciliation and away from sectarianism.”

My personal opinions:

1. Obama’s tax plan is similar to what Bill Clinton had in office where 95% of Americans will benefit and the other 5% will have their taxes increased about 5% similar to what it was when Clinton was in office. Hey listen folks a 5% increase is not going to dramatically hurt someone making over 250K a year! If only we could all hope for that to be our major problem in this world. How about a government and a economy that “spreads the wealth”!?!? That’s right I said it! That means that your tax money will go to EDUCATION (In my opinion the most important issue, more on that to come), Jobs and the Economy, Energy and the Environment among other things. I would rather have my government spend the money on things that will benefit the economy and the American people as a whole than to have a government who spends our hard earned money on a falsified War! When we all do better America does better. Today people are losing there jobs, houses, and 401-k’s, gas and stocks are fluctuating, banks are bankrupting and a lot of us are amending our budgets. Because everyone is spending less out of fear, and necessity stores are selling less. Stores selling less means more jobs cuts, more jobs cuts means less money being put back into our own economy. THE BOTTOM LINE IS WHEN MORE OF US ARE DOING WELL THAN ALL OF US WILL PROSPER.

2. I believe that EDUCATION can be the key to unlocking many doors. Education offers choices, Education helps to eliminate violence, and on a social level ignorance. A well educated nation is a better nation overall.

*****Below I have attached links to two (2) videos one showing the IGNORANCE, AND HATERED that some of us carry with us and that this election has brought out. The other is a commercial from the “WASSSUUPP” guys that just makes you think. Check them both out in full! *****
